A minimalist, task floor lamp from brass, WUL is inspired by the flexibility of a torch.
The best lighting design focuses on function and aesthetics as well as flexibility. The WUL Lamp is a perfect example. Created by Xulio Turnes of Domohomo Design, a Spanish architecture and design firm based in Santiago de Compostela, northwest Spain, the lamp is minimalist and creative. We have previously featured the studio’s work, the beautifully crafted 2W Chair. The WUL Lamp is equally ingenious. A task floor lamp from brass, it references classic torches with a flexible design that gives more freedom to the user. For example, the user can move the lamp as needed, from one room to another, thanks to a slender support. The light also moves on the vertical bar smoothly thanks to its own counterweight, to illuminate certain areas or to create indirect lighting.
In addition, this task floor lamp of brass is incredibly versatile. It transforms from a floor lamp to a table lamp or a bedside lamp with ease. The studio has collaborated with lighting manufacturer Lago Monroy to produce the WUL Lamp series. Made from brass, the lamp boasts a weathered finish that gives a nod to vintage lighting. The support bar comes in different lengths, for more convenience. Additionally, the WUL Lamp can also be made with other finishes and materials that enhance the design in different ways.
