Whimsical Kitchenware Collection from Nämä Shop

View all 10 Photos

Nämä Shop is an online venture by Ruth Landesa, a Spanish-born designer now living and working in rural Finland. Blending the traditional and the contemporary, the store produces vintage-inspired designs in limited edition. Current items include trays, boards, and trivets. While intended for the kitchen, the pieces can be used in almost any room of the home. Landesa’s boards, for instance, are multifunctional designs that can serve as cutting boards, cheese boards, placemats, home decoration, end tabletop covers, and more. The boards are made of veneered birch wood (sourced from Finnish forests) and painted with twee faces. Landesa makes use of wood in her other designs as well, but coats them with melamine: a sleeker, more modern material. Though a few products are designed by other European designers, the majority of the items in the store are designed by Landesa herself and crafted by local artisans.
