Celebrating an icon.
Over a career that spanned more than five decades, American designer Ward Bennett quietly revolutionized the world of interior design. His work ranged from architecture and interiors to product, furniture, and textile design. Regardless of his chosen medium, Bennett always searched for the purity of form, blending minimalism with elegant materials. His clients included affluent and influential figures and companies, such as Gianni and Marella Agnelli, Tiffany & Co., Rolling Stone magazine co-founders Jann and Jane Wenner, as well as Chase Manhattan Bank and David Rockefeller. So it may come as a surprise to learn that there is only one monograph of Bennett’s career.
Published by Phaidon and edited by Elizabeth Beer and Brian Janusiak, this comprehensive book celebrates the work of an icon. The monograph features 300 images over 280 pages and an essay by design and architecture writer Pilar Viladas. Inside, design lovers will find numerous gems, including a rare interview with Ward Bennett as well as unpublished material. Buy here. Photographs© Phaidon.
