The Vonschloo L8 and L10 Concrete Speakers

Elegant loudspeakers made with composite cement housing that optimizes acoustics.

Some speakers blend into the background and you only notice them when the music’s playing. Others make a style statement and double as decorative objects. The Vonschloo L8 and L10 concrete speakers bring refined contemporary design into living spaces without compromising audio quality. Designed by Swiss studio estragon, the loudspeakers have a minimalist aesthetic that puts a focus on materials and finishes to make a bold statement. Compact and robust at the same time, the speakers have an upright main body made of a composite fiber cement material. A slender stand provides support and contrasts the solidity of the elongated speaker housing. Beautiful from any angle, the loudspeakers allow the user to place them in any area of a room.

The blend of composite cement, wood, fabric, and metal makes the speakers pleasing both to the eye and to touch. More than just a modern material, the cement casing enhances acoustics and the audio quality. The company collaborated with Swiss brand Rowen to provide a superior sound experience. Apart from the rounded shape of the housing and the stiffness of the materials, the concrete speakers also feature high performance components and the latest technology.

The L8 speaker is a two-way system with Quasi-Active /Acoustic Crossover technology; it delivers a frequency response from 25-24’000 Herz and has a closed cabinet design. The L10 model has a frequency of 25-28’000 Hz, comes with the Rowen Linear Motion Transformer for high and medium frequencies, and also features a Bi-Polar tweeter. Both concrete speakers feature gold-plated connectors. Developed as a stereo passive system, the Vonschloo L8 and L10 loudspeakers are available as a pair. They only need an amplifier and your favorite music to give your home a visual and acoustic upgrade. Photographs© Patrik Fuchs.
