Introducing new versions of iconic watches.

First presented at Baselworld 2018, NOMOS Glashütte’s new neomatik date caliber DUW 610 provided the perfect opportunity to update some beloved timepieces from the brand’s collection. The popular Tangente, Orion and Ludwig now feature subtle and not-so-subtle changes, but all of them maintain their iconic aesthetic. The larger movement allowed the brand to play with both the appearance and the functionality of the watches. Developed in-house, this is the second edition of the neomatik caliber DUW 3001 which made waves in 2015.

DUW 6101 allows the easy adjustment of the date both forwards and backwards. Measuring 40.5mm, the larger cases keep their slender profile to preserve the elegant look of the watches intact. The timepieces feature new date windows as well as decorative details on the movement itself. Tangente boasts two red dots at the edge of the dial on the date ring. This pop of color cleverly marks the current date and enhance the design-oriented character of the watch. At the same time, it provides a creative twist on the traditional date windows. Orion neomatik keeps things classic with the date on the three o’clock mark, while Ludwig features the date opening at four o’clock, right between elegant Roman numerals.

All three timepieces come with sapphire glass back covers that provide a glimpse at the exquisite workmanship of the movement. Gold-plated embossing and golden engravings complement other decorations to give the watches a sophisticated look. Technical details include a power reserve of 42 hours and an anti-reflective coating on the sapphire glass front as well as water resistance up to 5 atm. Officially launched on May 17 in New York City, the new series is now available online and at selected stores. Photographs© NOMOS Glashütte.
