Pioneering Smart Lighting Meets Modern Home Aesthetics in an Inspired Collaboration Between Design and Technology Giants

Imagine walking into a room where the ambiance aligns perfectly with your mood, the light dances in hues that you can control, and the lamp that powers this experience is a statement piece in itself. This is not a page from a science fiction novel but a reality brought to life by Nanoleaf and Umbra’s groundbreaking Smart Lamp Collection. A symbiosis of advanced smart technology and modern, functional design, this collaboration offers more than just lighting—it transforms spaces and the way we interact with them.

Toronto-based Nanoleaf, an avant-garde leader in smart lighting technology, has joined forces with Umbra, a global icon in modern home décor since 1979, to redefine the parameters of intelligent lighting. With Nanoleaf’s expertise in future-proof Matter technology and Umbra’s decades-long commitment to design solutions that enhance everyday living, the two Canadian companies have created an awe-inspiring collection of lamps.

Portability, integrated storage and the option to adjust the light across 16 million colors.

The collection consists of two designs: the Cono Portable Lamp and the Cup Lamp. Cono, a portable marvel, has a playful design that allows users to direct its light by positioning it in various ways—upright, sideways, or even upside down. It’s not just a table or floor lamp but an interactive object, adding an element of whimsy to your daily lighting experience. Constructed with a metal body on a stand of recycled plastic mixed with wood fiber composite, Cono has a distinctive geometric silhouette. It also charges easily with a USB port. Available in Grey and Sierra, it’s a perfect fit for a variety of interiors.

The Cono Portable Lamp also opens up a world of over 16 million color choices and lighting scenes, empowering users to set the atmosphere for any occasion—from intimate gatherings to late-night reading sessions. Imagine the light shifting from a radiant fuchsia during a lively dinner to a soft, warm white as you curl up with a book. The possibilities are limitless.

Then there’s the Cup table lamp, a sophisticated addition to any workspace or study area. Designed with a cup base and a USB charging port, it does double duty as a functional lighting solution and an organizational accessory for tight desk spaces. Your workspace suddenly becomes a domain of inspired efficiency. Cup can also display more than 16 million colors and change the mood in an instant. Finished in timeless black, this desk lamp is an elegant addition to any space.

Multifunctional lamps designed to work seamlessly with smart gadgets.

Both lamps are built on Nanoleaf’s advanced Thread and Matter platform, integrating seamlessly into smart home ecosystems. Whether you prefer Apple, Google, Amazon, or SmartThings, control is literally at your fingertips through mobile apps. The sensory experience goes beyond just visual pleasure; it’s about feeling in control, touching the interface of your mobile device to dictate the lighting around you.

The Nanoleaf x Umbra Cono Portable Lamp is now available for pre-order and will ship by early November, with the Cup Lamp scheduled to make its debut in early 2024. The collaboration is not just about the products but about a shared vision for a world where design and technology are so intricately linked that they become inseparable. In this partnership, Nanoleaf and Umbra have realized that vision, offering us a glimpse into the future of home décor and lighting—a future that looks extraordinarily bright.
