The Tone Factory Turntable

An elegant turntable created for vinyl lovers who also love minimalist design.

Winner of the recognition prize at the Austrian Design Prize 2019, the Tone Factory turntable has an ingenious design. It integrates the main components inside a circular base that also acts as a support for the chassis. As a result, the minimalist turntable has an elegantly simple design with clean lines and a super-flat silhouette. Designed by the three young founders of Vienna-based Tone Factory, this stylish turntable also features high-end audio components engineered by Pro-Ject Audio Systems and handcrafted parts sourced from a factory in the Czech Republic.

The design aims to offer an accessible solution to both analog fans and vinyl beginners who may look for an alternative to over-complicated turntable designs. At the same time, the Tone Factory minimalist turntable looks gorgeous in any living space, becoming a veritable decorative accent. The circular aluminum base houses the motor, phono stage, and Bluetooth module. On top, the square chassis made from CNC-engineered MDF boasts a painted surface with a satin finish. Ultra-slim, the platter enhances the turntable minimalist good looks further, along with the one-piece tonearm with a cartridge created in a collaboration with high-end audio brand Ortofon. A single switch provides easy access to the 33 RPM and 45 RPM modes. Finally, the belt drive motor system ensures minimal vibrations and excellent sound performance.

The user can set-up Tone Factory in two ways; they can link it to a Bluetooth speaker or to a hi-fi system. An acrylic dustcover completes the design. This minimalist turntable comes in three color options: Black, White, and Green. Launched through Kickstarter, the campaign to produce the Tone Factory turntable has received more than three times the initial goal, showing that there’s a clear demand for beautifully minimalist, expertly crafted, and versatile turntables.
