The popular vodka brand launches its own hand sanitizer.
As hand sanitizer has become increasingly hard to find in stores, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) has authorized permitted distillers to produce ethanol-based hand cleansers. Austin-based craft vodka brand Tito’s Vodka is one of them. After testing their formula extensively and procuring the necessary ingredients, the company will start the production process. Naturally, Tito’s Hand Cleanser adheres to both industry and governmental guidance. The brand aims to produce 24 tons in the first few weeks, but will definitely have to get the next batch ready as soon as possible. It comes as no surprise to learn that the current number of requests outnumbers the limited production capabilities. Tito’s will distribute the hand sanitizers for free to first responders, hospitals, nursing homes, and personnel in critical need.
While focused on regional distribution at first, the company aims to expand allocation after the first few weeks. Tito’s currently accepts requests by form and will also post updates on the production schedule online. Apart from producing hand sanitizer, the company has also pledged further support to organizations that provide financial assistance to people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. A donation of $1 million has been distributed to four organizations focused on helping people working in the service industry. An additional $1 million will go to other institutions in the near future. Photographs© Tito’s Vodka.
