An experimental, titanium mini velo created by an art and design practice.
Based in Brooklyn, NY, CW&T is an art and design practice dedicated to making thoughtful objects that are passed down form one generation to the next. The studio’s founders have similar backgrounds. Che-Wei Wang, an artist, designer, and architect has experience in metal manufacturing, electronics, and CNC machining, while artist and designer Taylor Levy makes everything from low-tech electronic sculptures to software. Together, they create a wide range of objects, from tables, lighting, and home accessories to clocks, apps, and bikes. Apart from designing Penny Pelican, a cargo bike that maximizes storage space, the studio also created the Sleeper Bike. This titanium mini velo is compact and fun as well as practical.
A mini velo with personality, the bicycle features an experimental titanium frame with a double top tube that curves downwards to create the seat stays. The titanium mini velo also features a Gates Carbon Belt Drive, a Rohloff 14 speed hub, and Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes. At the front, the Blackburn basket offers some welcome storage space for a small bag; the basket also boasts a colorful patch from Mokuyobi Threads. The studio paired the BSD Donnastreet 20″ yellow tires with We The People Logic rims Tubolito tubes. For the Woodman seat mast, they chose a Tioga saddle. Finally, the White Industries headset features a custom CW&T Blockhead Stem. Photographs© CW&T.
