View all 15 Photos

Nested near the sweeping shores of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand, the Whangapoua Sled House is the perfect little escape to a paradise where time slips away into the ocean. Ken Crosson of Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects created this haven with amazingly distinct features such as the two large glass doors and the retractable folding door which opens to expose the second floor. It may be small, but it’s bountiful of simple treasures for any house dweller to enjoy. The walls are lined with an immense shelving space of different sizes. A little dining area and a kitchen are compiled on the first floor where three bunk beds lie hidden in a separate back room. A wooden ladder leads to a private bedroom where the vast water of the surrounding sea enlighten residents on a daily basis.
