Judging by its name and design, it’s clear that this custom bike boldly goes where no bike has gone before. Recently completed by Union Motion, Phaser Type 1 is inspired by the beloved Star Trek sci-fi series and boasts creative details that make it look unlike any other builds we’ve seen.
A Fuel-craving bike becomes a futuristic electric motorcycle.
The UK-based motorcycle workshop specializes in building custom electric bikes, and this futuristic motorcycle is no exception. The foundation for the design comes from the gas-guzzling 1998 Yamaha Fazer 600, or, more precisely, from its rolling chassis that arrived at the shop in the form of a frame, forks, wheels, and swingarm. An electric 6kWh battery with a range of 60 miles on a full charge was installed between the two top frame loops, just above the motor and controller. As it sits on rails, it can be quickly removed and replaced when needed. The lightweight and minimal CNC milled sheet aluminum bodywork maintains the clean and futuristic appearance while also preserving the original ergonomics of the Yamaha motorcycle. The striking disk wheels are inspired by the iconic bike from the Japanese movie Akira. Phaser Type 1 also features a halo running light at the front, a black seat, blue and red accents, and a custom, fully programmable UI. Photo credits: Union Motion.
