The Natural Urban Wooler

Natural, renewable, eco-friendly, and great for your feet, Swiss startup Baabuk’s Urban Wooler, is a versatile sneaker you can sport “from the beach to the city, and from work to the gym.” Using wool from sheep of the Serra da Estrela mountain range in Portugal, the Urban Wooler is carefully hand felted in traditional Valenki boot fashion at the neighboring village of Manteigas.

Each shoe requires half a kilogram of wool, and its rubber soles are constructed from recycled tires and natural rubbers.

Each shoe requires half a kilogram of wool, and its rubber soles are constructed from recycled tires and natural rubbers. Fresh, water repellent, and antibacterial, the 100% natural wool sneakers can be worn without socks. Retaining heat during the winter, repelling heat through the hot summer months, and providing breathable comfort all year round, these shoes slowly adapt to each individual foot for a well-molded fit. One of Baabuk’s more subtle and contemporary sihouettes, the Urban Wooler comes in a variety of colors combinations from a classic black shoe with white laces, to a light blue shoe with yellow laces. Great for likeminded individuals with a passion for craft and sustainability, the Urban Wooler has reached its Kickstarter goal and is now available for sale on Baabuk’s website.
