The Long House by Hopkins Architecture

View all 11 Photos

Respect for an old fashioned craft combined with the advances in architectural technology birthed a magnificent home tucked away in the sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast in England. Between the choral rings of the church bells and the silent whispers of the Cockthorpe village resides the perfect balance of recreation and peace. The flat meadow like terrain of the Long House offers gentle views for residents along with the tranquility of the salt marshes and creeks of the North Sea coast nearby. Sir Michael and Lady Patty Hopkins of Hopkins Architecture constructed this home for Living Architecture with distinctive features equal to the massive and traditional architecture of the churches and barns in the region. The grand medieval styled hall and the vast timber roof held up by a detailed sculptural construction are some of the exquisite features of this fine dwelling.
