Cycling is currently more popular than ever and a growing number of cyclists use electric bikes. But even if they are significantly more convenient to ride through city streets and steep hills, they usually lean on the heavier side. Elektron aims to change the way people think about cycling and maybe even convert new fans to the green cause.
The compact folding bike was developed by Tern and features a Bosch electric-bike system with a 400Wh battery that will offer enough power for a commute of 31-62 miles. That’s impressive, but it’s not the reason Elektron is so special. The bicycle can be folded in just 10 seconds, and it will fit in the trunk of a car or under a desk. You can take it on the subway or train, and save precious storage space at home. The bicycle also has a stylish urban design with black and dark gray tones and subtle red details. Tern will launch a Kickstarter campaign this October and make the Elektron bike available to pre-order. If you don’t want to miss out, you can register on the official website to receive a notification as soon as the campaign goes live. Images courtesy of Tern.
