Swiss Artist’s Studio by Savioz Fabrizzi Architecte

This wood and concrete studio was designed by Savioz Fabrizzi Architecte for Chamoson-based artists Michel and Josyane Roduit. Made as an extension of the nearby house and studio, the new construction serves as a workspace, wood store, and garden shed. The two-level building stands on a narrow, slanted plot, a site which pushed the design toward being more modern and angular. The sharp facade features concrete and wood, natural materials which seem to glow blue at dusk. Inside, the white walls, polished floors, and wrap-around view of the surrounding mountains and valleys make the space even more reflective, an almost blank yet distinct backdrop to the Roduits’ painting and sculpture projects.
