Sustainable Sand Packaging

View all 4 Photos

Sand Packaging sounds like an oxymoron, but the Barcelona-based studio Alien and Monkey has made it reality. Turning to the beach for a sustainable way to present small gifts, they chose to work with sand because it is an evocative, tactile, and renewable material. Fashioned into rectangular boxes with a stylish diagonal groove, sand is aesthetic as well. The product design features a hardened exterior, a stopper, and an interior cavity with loose sand and room for a bauble.
