The Sun at Six Reka Armchair

A stylish armchair specially designed to enhance comfort for longer sitting sessions.

California-based brand Sun at Six offers a stunning range of furniture that beautifully marries contemporary design and traditional Chinese woodworking techniques. Handmade with great care from durable, natural materials, the collection provides high-quality furniture solutions for both residential and commercial spaces. With the Reka Armchair, the company offers a supremely comfortable seating design that works well in busy family homes or upscale hospitality settings in equal measure.

As stylish as it is cozy, the Reka Armchair explores the play between wide and narrow shapes with a creative design that looks different depending on the viewing angle. The extra-wide legs appear hefty from the side, but slender when admired from the front. Flattened and extended across the frame, the seat cushion provides excellent support and reduces the strain on the hamstrings. A subtly angled, wide backrest enhances comfort further, along with the rounded edges of the armrests and the armchair’s larger footprint. Indeed, this chair suits hours-long sitting sessions, whether lounging at home or relaxing in a hotel room.

Like all Sun at Six products, Reka is handcrafted to last from solid wood with traditional joinery techniques. The mataka wood frame displays grain patterns that add warmth and character to the design. To ensure that the armchair looks beautiful over many years of use, the company uses a tenna oil finish that protects the wood and makes the surface stain- and spill-resistant. Additionally, the upholstery fabric resists abrasions and stains.

Sun at Six offers the armchair with three wood finishes and two fabric options. The wood comes with warm Amber, light brown Clay and dark brown Cocoa finishes, while the seat comes with either Cream Bouclé or Black Velvet upholstery.
