Stix Bench By STAY

View all 7 Photos

From a distance, the Stix Bench by Nashville-based brand STAY looks like a work of modern art. Upon closer inspection, it looks like a (beautifully crafted) work of modern art. Handcrafted to a high standard of quality, the bench features an ingenious design that molds itself to the weight of the user. The 121 pieces of walnut or mahogany hard wood float freely on a soft base, slightly ‘sinking’ when in use while also providing optimum support and comfort.

Boasting a striking combination of materials and textures, the bench truly stands out in any room. On top, the wood pieces feature tool marks and a wide range of rich brown tones. On the base’s exterior, the raw brass plated steel displays unique lines and shadows. Over time, this section will develop a patina to become even more eye-catching and distinctive. The company also creates special-order pieces upon request. These custom benches explore the aesthetic possibilities of the distinctive design and may feature exotic woods and different metal shell finishes. The Stix range, which also includes a 4-seater bench, tables and bar stools, is handmade in the US. Photo credits: STAY.
