Skitchen: Food Photography with Skater Punk Vibes

View all 10 Photos

Skitchen is a playful new photography project by Benoit James, the artist behind Cassette Relooking. Skitchen brings together two disparate worlds, the skatepark and the kitchen, using an everyday cooking area as the backdrop for unusual activity. In this series, common food items such as eggs and onions play the part of skaters, wheeling around the counter and into the air. Strange yet lighthearted, the images pull a trick on the mind, making it look as though household items have come alive. The point? Still life doesn’t have to keep still.
