High-end design in an eco-friendly package.

When the three founders of Sealand Gear established the company in Cape Town, South Africa in 2015 with the goal to keep the environment at the center of every product, they weren’t kidding. Cue the 2018 Sealand Eco Collection. A range of eco friendly bags and backpacks that perfectly showcase the brand’s determination to create functional and stylish products that are as green as possible.

Crafted by hand from the revolutionary Recover® material, each product features 100% recycled and upcycled fibers. These include upcycled Cotton as well as fibers from post-consumer recycled PET bottles. Thanks to this ingenious fabric, the bags and accessories from the collection are already impressively eco-friendly. Yet the company takes the manufacturing process a bit further. It uses almost no water to upcycle the cotton fibers, generating zero greenhouse gases. At the same time, over 50% of the production of this fabric is produced using solar power.

Apart from responsible manufacturing, the collection of eco friendly bags and backpacks also scores high marks on style and function. The Hero travel bag is the centerpiece of the range. It features a versatile design that allows the user to carry it by the handles or as a backpack. The bag comes with dual straps, a double zip passport pouch and a padded laptop compartment as well as a shoe pouch with a hidden pocket for valuables. The collection also includes a backpack, tote bag, duffel bag, toiletry/accessory bag, and a flat zip pouch. All of them come in Black, Navy, or Orange. The brand launched the Sealand Eco collection on Kickstarter, offering reduced prices for the Hero travel bag and the range of exclusive accessories. The campaign ends on May 18, 2018.
