A serene beach retreat in Thailand that looks to the sky for inspiration.
More than a year ago, Sala Samui Chaweng Beach Resort Thailand, opened its doors to guests with 52 rooms inspired by the full moon. Now, the resort has completed a second wing that is as special as the first. Designed by the same studio, the Thai Onion architecture and design firm, the new Garden Wing draws inspiration from the half and new moon phases. It features 82 rooms and suites that include villas with access to private pools as well as deluxe suites with balconies that offer views of the lush gardens.
Just like the original Beach Wing, the resort’s new area has a refined design and a décor that heavily references the lunar phases. For example, the suites feature arches and curved elements as well as circular pools and rounded silhouettes. The color palette of the Sala Samui Chaweng Beach Resort Thailand Garden Wing also gives a nod to the half and the new moon phases. While the bedrooms have white walls, pastel fabrics, and warm wooden furniture, the bathrooms boast cool gray tiles with natural textures.
In the common areas, the studio used darker colors, including green, black, and deep blue. Throughout the Garden Wing, the furniture and decor feature round elements. Apart from the new rooms, the wing also houses a large swimming pool, a spa, and a sauna. Naturally, there’s a restaurant on the premises, offering guests a menu that includes both Thai and western dishes. Photographs© Sala Samui Chaweng Beach Resort.
