An all-purpose, all-terrain bike designed to take you from city streets to mountain trails in complete comfort.
Designed and made by California-based A-O, the Ronin Mark 1 electric bike is an all-rounder that can candle any terrain. The bicycle is perfect for commuting to work as much as it’s ideal for mountain biking, hunting, and camping, in all kinds of weather. Powerful and incredibly versatile, the Ronin Mark I merges the performance of an off-road bike with the convenience of a city cruiser and the hauling capabilities of a cargo bike.
The company used only premium components for the build. The 1000W mid-drive torque sensing motor has a peak power rating of 1500W and a maximum torque of 160 Nm, reaching top speeds of 30 mph or 47 km/h. Thanks to the 20Ah Samsung battery pack, the bike has a range of 30 miles with no pedaling. The range goes up to 60 miles with the pedal assist mode. Made from aluminum alloy, the frame is both lightweight and sturdy. The Ronin Mark I also comes with a 9-speed Shimano Alivio drivetrain, a Tektro 4 Piston Hydraulic brake system on the front and back, and a GT-860 air suspension for more comfortable riding on rough terrain. Other features include KENDA 26-inch tires that provide excellent grip and traction on all types of tracks and weather conditions. Plus, the tires are also puncture-resistant and shock-absorbent.
A full color display and a custom app provide complete control over a range of settings. At the same time, they offer access to important info at a glance. Finally, A-O offers a selection of accessories for this all-terrain e-bike. Among them, a waterproof twin pannier and a cargo trailer with a carrying capacity of 150 lbs. Launched through Kickstarter, the bike is available to backers from $3,599 – considerably lower than the future retail price of $5,999. The campaign ends on August 5 2023, with shipping starting this fall. Photography © A-O.
