A high-end bed and breakfast on a sprawling wine estate in Italy.
Located in the hills of Emilia, between Parma and Reggio Emilia, and only a short drive away from Modena and Bologna, Venturini Baldini is the perfect holiday retreat for travelers who are also wine lovers. Established in 1976, the award-winning producer of organic lambrusco wine and sparkling wines owns the surrounding vineyards and one of the oldest vinegar cellars that dates back to the 17th century, as well as a newly re-opened resort. Dating back to the 16th century, Villa Manodori has a rich heritage. The recently renovated Roncolo 1888 is a great choice for those who want to explore the region’s history and culture.
This high-end bed and breakfast has 9 double bedrooms and two double bedroom suites. The rooms boast a blend of original rustic touches and contemporary design. Wooden beams, traditional tiles, and beautifully crafted furniture appear alongside blue and green colors, bold patterns, and minimalist lighting. The larger suites feature lounge areas with eclectic furniture, while the dining room boasts stone flooring and wood furniture. Windows provide great views of the picturesque area, from the garden and vineyards to the natural park of Roncolo.
Outside, guests have access to a huge pool with comfortable sun loungers. When not sunbathing, they can relax on a terrace surrounded by roses, lavender and tall trees. A stay here also includes a tour of the winery, a wine and balsamic vinegar tasting, and a visit to the historic vinegar cellar that holds 400 barrels from the 4th century. For guests who want to venture out and explore, the hotel provides access to bikes. Needless to say, the area has plenty to offer, from discovering the flavors of the local cuisine to visiting Motor Valley and booking a Ferrari test drive. Photographs© Venturini Baldini.
