Designed without a gabled roof and boasting a glazed panoramic façade, the Reydon Grove Farm provides a contemporary and stylish interpretation of a classic farmhouse. Built on the edge of a working farm in Suffolk, UK, this elegant home was designed by Norm Architects to correspond to the scale of the existing barn and old dairies. The entire structure is elevated on a sandstone platform and features a walkway that wraps around the house. Light brown larch cladding that will gain a patina over time is paired with dark window frames and distinct gray brick chimneys. The long, single-story building is divided in two sections: one contains the socializing spaces, including the living room, kitchen and dining room, while the other houses the bedrooms and bathrooms. A central hall separates the two main areas, while a large fireplace shields the living room from the kitchen space. Natural light flows throughout the interior via large windows and glass sliding doors, providing great views of the meadows, farmland and nearby trees at the same time. The décor enhances the airy ambience of the interior with gray furniture, bright white walls and pale wooden flooring. Stylish, cozy, flooded with natural light and open to the natural landscape, the Reydon Grove Farm is the epitome of a modern family home. Photo credits: Norm Architects.
