A custom bike that creatively blends retro and futuristic elements in a distinctive design.
Based in the Netherlands, Moto Adonis is a custom motorcycle workshops that consistently delivers gorgeous builds. We have written about their custom Yamaha that brought the owners’ specific brief to life in a stylish way, and their BMW scrambler with a subtle vintage character. Now, the Moto Adonis team has done it again. The Retrofuture BMW R80 RT cafe racer is one of the most creative custom builds we’ve seen. As with their previous builds, the design beautifully builds upon the client’s brief while offering an imaginative take on custom bikes. The client requested a design that would mirror his career in architecture, but otherwise gave the team free reign to create something special. Blending both retro and futuristic design cues, Retrofuture is truly one-of-a-kind.
Like the best builds, this one started with a full stripping down to reveal the frame as a blank canvas. The team installed a new fuel tank and modified it with an elongated silhouette that follows the custom subframe. The bright red inverted forks work especially well with the matte black wheel discs and Shinko tires. At the front, there’s a new headlight, while at the rear, there’s an elegant LED strip. Parts from Motogadget include the grips and bar-end blinkers as well as the M-Unit Blue speedometer.
The Retrofuture BMW R80 RT cafe racer also features a customized, 2-in-1 exhaust system with parts from Mad Exhausts and a pop-up cap on the CB500 fuel tank. Finally, the new seat with a low profile boasts leather and Alcantara upholstery that perfectly complements the bike’s dark palette.
