An exclusive, limited-edition watch inspired by a renowned painting.
A work of art that also shows the passage of time. Meet the highly exclusive Grail Watch 1: Ressence x Alain Silberstein “Carpe Diem” timepiece. Created in a collaboration between Alain Silberstein and Benoît Mintiens, the watch has an imaginative design that encourages the user to see time in a different way. For one, it takes inspiration from a famous painting: Philippe de Champaigne’s Vanitas, Still Life with Tulip, Skull and Hour Glass. Or in French, Vanité, ou Allégorie de la vie Humaine, which translates to Vanity, or Allegory of Human Life. The poetic design is also bold and colorful, featuring symbols from the artwork, the skull and the tulip. Silberstein also added a golden triangle that encourages the wearer to live in the moment and seize each day.
Based on the Ressence Type 1 watch, Grail Watch 1 comes with a 41.5mm titanium case with a closed caseback. The dial features a blue matte finish and comes with block indices. Apart from the hour, minute, and seconds markers, the timepiece also has a day of the week function. Inside the case, there’s a self-winding caliber movement with a ROCS 1 module and a 36-hour power reserve. Finally, a calf leather strap with a titanium pin buckle and red accents completes the design. Grail Watch 1: Ressence x Alain Silberstein “Carpe Diem” will be available on May 1, 2022. Made in an ultra-limited edition of only 36 units, this collector’s watch costs $24,300. Photographs© Ressence.
