I stopped at the farm stand before heading to grams house. Pound of oven roasted turkey, block of sliced cheese, bag of rolls, pint of strawberries, small container of macaroni salad, and half a cantaloupe. All checked out and on the way out the door I noticed a new item I never saw here before…homemade chocolate ice cream! Back to the register, couldn’t resist.
We were having a picnic. She’s 90 years young, strong as a horse, sweet as a teaspoon of honey. Bent down to help me open the folding card table to use for our outdoor make shift patio set on her lawn (which she fresh cut herself the day before). “This table has seen many memories” she smiles. We enjoy our meal, and reminisce over the many family picnic buffets our table served.
