The Pegg Furniture Collection

A collection of sustainable wood furniture designed with function in mind.

Created by Oxford-based designer Michael Buick, Pegg is an ingeniously simple and practical collection of furniture specially designed for modern lifestyles. Buick retrained as a designer after working for years in the renewable energy industry; he decided to create the furniture he had desperately missed every time he moved house over the years. Inspired by traditional woodwork, he used the simple peg joint system to create an entire collection of furniture. Aptly named Pegg, the line comprises everything from a stool and table to a desk, shelving, shoe racks, and lighting. Every product is handmade from sustainable, responsibly sourced solid wood and features the collection’s signature peg assembly system.

Easy to put together using a mallet, the furniture is also incredibly easy to disassemble when needed and place in storage or in moving boxes. The elements slot together with ease and the user can lock them in place with the included pegs. While this ingenious system makes the furniture ideal for those who move frequently, it also offers an easy way to adapt living spaces to changing needs. Plus, the hands-on assembly method gives an artisan flavor to the designs. Customers can select between different product shapes and sizes as well as three types of wood: oak, ash, or walnut. Sustainably and ethically made in small batches in Oxford, the UK, the Pegg collection features European solid wood. And like traditional timber furniture, it’s built to last a lifetime.
