Incredibly versatile modular furniture inspired by the concept of connection.
Established by a team with backgrounds in industrial design, furniture retail, fashion, photography and graphic design, Part & Whole produces thoughtful and versatile furniture inspired by the concept of connection. Made in Canada, the brand’s collection explores the concept of universal interconnectedness, of the harmony between different parts that come together to create a whole. This approach has led to the creation of an incredibly versatile collection of modular furniture. Additionally, Part & Whole creates meaningful relationships with partners from all over the world to source high-quality components and materials. Then, in the company’s manufacturing facility on Vancouver Island, the magic happens.
Each piece of furniture from the brand’s collection features modular parts that allow the creation of different configurations. To make the modular sofas, the Part & Whole imports unassembled parts from countries such as Italy, Denmark, or Germany. An in-house team completes all prototyping, patterning and sewing, before assembling the furniture. The products are specially designed to last, to adapt to different needs, and to be as sustainable as possible. At the same time, the furniture features carefully chosen materials that are durable, high-performance, and tactile. The company uses both traditional materials like wool and modern materials that include multi-density foam and laser welded steel. While crafted with longevity in mind, all Part & Whole products allow easy repairs, recycling, or even repurposing.
Customizable sofas that look gorgeous and also provide ultimate comfort.
The Chord modular sofa system is cleverly simple and versatile. Designed by Nathan Martell and Steve Suchy, this series features only three modules that allow a wide range of configurations thanks to their open ended connectivity. Inspired by the low lounge sofa of the 1970s, the Chord sofas boast quilted fabric upholstery with a multi-density foam seats for ultimate comfort. A backrest with an internal wedge construction provides excellent lumbar support. The Chord series features chair, corner, and two-seat bench modules that combine in a range of configurations.
Designers Nathan Martell and Steve Suchy have also created the Total collection. This series features four core designs: a chair, a sofa, a chaise sectional sofa, and a corner sectional, all available in different sizes and colors. Modular and easy to expand, the seating also features removable, replaceable and repairable components. The Total collection also comprises a table add-on that greatly enhances the seating’s functionality. Photography © Part & Whole.
