The OVO Lounge Chair

View all 7 Photos

A stylish and sustainably made armchair designed with wider armrests and an extra-spacious seat.

Designed by global architecture and design firm Foster + Partners for furniture brand Benchmark, the OVO chair collection keeps style, comfort, and sustainability in perfect balance. The range comprises three minimalist designs: an armchair, a stackable chair, and a lounge chair. The OVO Lounge Chair optimizes comfort with extra-wide armrests and a wide, deep seat. Spacious and ergonomic, the armrests offer plenty of room for a laptop or a cup of tea or coffee. Like other products from the collection, the lounge chair comes either in an all-wood build or with an upholstered seat. Stylish and versatile, the lounge chair suits both residential and commercial or public spaces. The high-quality solid wood build ensures that these chairs last a lifetime.

Crafted from solid oak, the OVO Lounge Chair comes with a natural or an ebonized finish. The upholstered chair features Sorensen Dunes Leather with a smooth matte finish and a chemical-free organic wool filling. Every OVO chair is crafted with a focus on sustainability. While the timber seat versions have a negative carbon footprint, the upholstered versions come with Nordic Swan Ecolabel-certified aniline leather and non-plastic fillings. For the OVO range, Benchmark used organic sheep’s wool to fill the upholstery. Unlike plastic foam, wool is naturally breathable, fire-retardant, and anti-microbial. The collection also has Red List Free Declare labeling, which means that it shows complete transparency throughout the manufacturing process and meets the high standards of WELL-certified buildings.
