Design, Italians do it better

Epiphytes: Organic Pendant Planters by Dossofiorito

View all 6 Photos

Epiphytes is a home garden design that takes its name from a type of plant that grows on the outside of other things, such as trees, instead of in soil. Created by the Italian studio Dossofiorito, the planter is intended for use with epiphytes, as it lets their roots hang down. The exposure to the air is healthy for the growing greenery, and the spectacle has an overgrown, almost wild look to it. Made of white ceramic and finished with green glazes, stainless steel, and natural cork, the design is earthy in appearance. The gardening item was recently presented at Salone del Mobile 2015.
