Ochs und Junior’s Two Time Zones + Date Watch

A creatively designed dual timezone watch.

Ingenious and modern, this timepiece from Swiss watch brand Ochs und Junior offers a creative take on the dual timezone concept. Instead of the standard dial with multiple hands and dials, the Two Time Zones + Date watch displays the second timezone using the hour hand. In a similar way to one of the brand’s previous designs, the timepiece makes the most of simplicity. A disk at the center coupled with an opening on the hour hand marks the time in the second location. At the same time, the tips of the hour and minute hands indicate the current time. A small dot in a disk at the 6 o’clock mark displays the seconds, while a matching one at 12 o’clock indicates the power reserve.

The Two Time Zones + Date watch features a 42mm PVD grade 5 titanium case, a screw-down crown, and a Ulysse Nardin UN-118 movement. The watch comes in three versions. The Black/White model provides great contrast with a black dial and luminous hands and markers, while the White/Black version maximizes contrast further with a white dial and black markers. Finally, the Rose Gold watch features a hand patinated, textured medium gray dial with rose gold-plated hands, markers, and timezone numbers. All three watches come with various strap options. These range from sturgeon leather and nylon weave with a Kevlar core to vegetable-tanned leather, suede, and rubber. Apart from the sturgeon leather, which boasts a warm brown color, all of these straps come in a wide range of colors, offering a convenient customization solution. Available now, all three watches have a price tag of around $9,100. Photographs© Ochs und Junior.
