An elegant hanging planter light designed as a self-sustaining ecosystem.

Made by Berlin-based Nui Studio, the Mygdal Plantlight is a hanging planter light designed as a self-supporting ecosystem. The “plantlight” blends contemporary design, technology, and nature with traditional glass-making. The mouth-blown glass shade contains a hermetically sealed environment with over 90% humidity. As a result, the water evaporates and condenses in a closed cycle. This means that the plants don’t require any watering. Thanks to the studio’s patent-pending SmartGrow technology, the Mygdal Plantlight is a virtually maintenance-free planter. It also provides a clear view of the plants through the elegant smoked glass.

The LEDs reproduce the color of natural light, ensuring that the plants can perform photosynthesis even if the planter is placed in a darker area. Any plant inside the Mygdal Plantlight can live for years. On the bottom, the aluminum plate opens easily if the user want to remove a plant and change it with another. Finally, the hanging planter light comes with the LightControl app that allows the user to change the intensity, color, time, and duration of the lighting using a smartphone or a tablet. The handcrafted Mygdal Plantlight comes in two sizes: regular and large. The studio offers three types of plants for both planters. Customers can choose between Lush, Jungle, or Zen plants, each with their own personality and charm. Photographs© Nui Studio.
