A vertical turntable made for audiophiles and design lovers.
Modern turntables come in all shapes, sizes, materials, and minimalist styles. Some of them, however, reimagine the familiar vinyl record player in new ways. A playful twist on classic turntables, the Miniot Wheel boasts a vertical design and a top-loading system. While it works upright on a table or on a wall – for maximum visual impact – Wheel can also be used horizontally. This audiophile turntable allows users to load the records from the front and put them proudly on display. Created with audio fidelity in mind, the minimalist turntable features three closed loop motors and a linear tonearm that control all movement at the tip of the stylus.
This record player comes with an Audio-Technica Nude Shibata cartridge that works in unison with the built-in audiophile preamp to reproduce audio with clarity. Furthermore, the company designed the signal path between the high-end cartridge and the audiophile phono stage as short as possible, at only 18 mm. As a result, Wheel delivers a crystal-clear, pure RIAA equalized sound that optimizes accuracy. The turntable adjusts the speed through the proprietary Constant Groove Speed system, after detecting the record size. A slide track and line display offer complete control over the track selection, volume, and stylus weight, among other functions.
Entirely handmade in Holland, every Miniot limited-edition Wheel turntables feature the individual signatures of the small team that crafts each unit. The turntable features premium materials and brushed metal accents. It also comes with a rectangular base plate specially designed for optimal balance and damping. Due to the limited building capacity and the handmade construction, Miniot can produce only 5-10 Wheel turntables each month. The design comes in White, Black, and in Cherry or Walnut. The limited-edition Black Wheel version costs €3,799 or around $4,050, and comes with worldwide shipping – within 14 days of the order. Photography © Miniot.
