A hotel that feels like home.

Berlin is filled with cool things to discover, but even among such rich offerings, the Michelberger Hotel stands out as one of the most creative and authentic places. Located in the Friedrichshain district, which has its own distinctive character, the hotel welcomes travelers into cleverly designed rooms and spaces with a warm, friendly atmosphere. At this family-owned business, simplicity and authenticity triumph over profits and compromise. Driven by a desire to maximize quality and provide memorable experiences, the hotel’s owners focused on designing a home that doubled as their own creative hub and a space for creative-minded people from all over the world. Art, music, and modern design come together here.

“Small is beautiful”, the hotel’s motto, shows an emphasis on the personal, the individual, and the lovingly crafted. Stepping inside the industrial-style building, guests enter a welcoming space. The rooms vary from compact and comfortable to ultra-spacious suites. The clever layout and décor make the most of the interior spaces. Bunk beds and loft areas allow families or groups of friends to share the same home away from home, while the suites with a kitchen, sauna, and lounge areas help travelers relax in ultimate comfort in between urban explorations.

Apart from the hugely varied range of rooms, the hotel also offers access to several work and event spaces. These include elegant office and meeting rooms as well as the stylish Whiskey Room. The latter boasts leather and velvet sofas, wooden wall panels, and fur rugs. Live music and shows enliven the hotel; during winter, they take up the bar area, while in the summer they fill up the courtyard. The near-obsession with authenticity also defines the hotel’s restaurant. The dishes feature all-organic ingredients. Where possible, the seasonal ingredients come from farms located in the countryside around Berlin. Photographs© Michelberger Hotel.
