A versatile, modern wallet that reinvents the everyday item with an innovative design.
Created by Kristaps Krisjans and Toronto-based creative studio Mbacco, this ingenious wallet is specially designed for modern lifestyles and people on-the-go. The Mbacco™ wallet reimagines an everyday product as a flexible, practical and beautifully crafted item that adapts to the user’s needs. Made with a simple, timeless look, the wallet is minimal and versatile at the same time. The genuine leather has a tactile surface while the durable ripstop fabric creates an accordion-style compartment system. A premium webbing elastic band keeps the wallet closed and adds an eye-catching accent to the design.
The custom-made, expandable opening provides an easy way to keep cards secure and protected as well as easy to access. Using a custom high pressure and heat technique, the studio strengthened the technical fabric further. At the same time, the material is thin and keeps the wallet compact. While the wallet ideally accommodates 6-9 cards, it can easily hold up to 12 cards without becoming bulky. Each side boasts an exterior compartment where the user can store either bills or small essentials for ultra-quick access. Additionally, a hidden interior compartment can house a memory card, a key, and a couple or coins, or any small item the user wants to keep extra-secure.
Launched through Kickstarter, the Mbacco wallet has received an incredible amount of support from backers. With the initial goal surpassed almost eight times over (at the time of writing), this innovative wallet will definitely make its way into production. The studio offers the first series in a range of premium leather options. The different versions include Charcoal Black, Caramel Brown, Olive Green, Navy Blue, and Stone Gray. In the near future, the team plans to announce a series of artificial, eco-friendly leather options. If you want to become a backer, you can support the campaign until November 22 2022. The Super Early Bird Special pledge is $49 and has a shipping date set for March 2023. Photography © Mbacco.
