A refined timepiece that celebrates the natural beauty of Swiss landscapes.
Part of the high-end Excellence series of watches from the Louis Erard collection, the Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta timepiece blends vintage design cues with warm hues and fine watchmaking. The design re-imagines the Petite Seconde model with earthy colors that draw inspiration from the beauty of the Jura Mountains in Switzerland – the home of the Louis Erard watch brand. In a first, the timepiece also comes in a 39 mm version along with the traditional 42 mm case. The design celebrates the warmth of the Franches-Montagnes trail with a terracotta color palette.
Reminding of vintage watches but made with a contemporary design, this timepiece has terracotta dial with subtle differences in textures. Matte finishes and variations of semitones give the dial an elegant look. It features satin and fine grain surfaces as well as glossy anthracite gray indexes and signature fir tree hands. A dark brown Baranil calf leather strap with beige stitching and a polished stainless steel pin buckle completes the design. The strap also features functional catch spring bars that allow the user to change the strap quickly.
The watch comes with a Sellita SW261-1 automatic movement with 31 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. The case features a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Apart from an exhibition caseback, the case also comes with a signature fir tree crown. Made in a limited edition of 100 pieces per year by reference, the Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta has a retail price of 1,950 Swiss francs, or around $2,100. Photographs© Louis Erard.
