The Loop Desk

An elegant and minimalist wood desk with a two-tier design that optimizes function.

Following on the footsteps of the Shelter desk, João Teixeira’s new Loop Desk offers an elegant solution to create an office space at home. Similarly to the previous design, this desk is minimalist and sophisticated as well as slim and practical. The design fits into smaller bedrooms and living rooms with ease thanks to its compact size. The name references the curved top section that doubles as a monitor stand and shelf. Elegantly rounded, the stand loops around the desk area, mirroring the table top’s rounded shape. The two-tier design optimizes function and storage space while giving the desk a distinctive and fresh look.

At the front, a slim drawer opens to provide plenty of room for smaller items like notebooks, desk accessories, or gadgets. At the back, an opening allows the user to store other items and hide all cables at the same time. Tapered legs with a matching rounded shape provide excellent support. To create the desk, the designer used light wood that complements the contemporary aesthetic. While ideal to use as a workspace with a monitor, the Loop Desk suits any office setup. The top shelf provides generous space for lighting and plants or books propped up with bookends. Either way, the desk perfectly blends style and function in a compact design that can make even a humble room look extra-refined. Images© João Teixeira.
