When Bugatti decides to design a bike, one expects a stylish product. When that bike complements the new Chiron, excitement jumps to ridiculous levels. And when the Italian giant pairs with German manufacturer PG to ensure superior performance, the stakes go even higher. Fortunately for all of us, these three scenarios combined to lead to PG X Bugatti, a limited-edition bicycle that’s unlike anything else on the market.
As expected, the bike stuns at first sight with its refined and modern lines. Much like Heroin, this bicycle has a distinctive character and sophisticated style that sets it apart from other models. But there’s more than meets the eye. Built with more than 95% carbon fiber, this beauty weighs under 5 kilograms, which makes it the lightest “special” urban bicycle in the world. Using manufacturing methods employed in the aeronautics industry, PG crafted a product that takes inspiration from Bugatti’s range of supercars. Designed for high speeds, this model is not actually suitable for city streets, but for sports and high-performance riding. The aerodynamic silhouette combines with the carbon fiber frame and aluminum parts to offer an impressively lightweight yet stiff ride.
Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show 2017, the bicycle will be produced in a limited-edition of just 667 units, which will be open to customization. At $39,000, the bike offers a significantly more affordable alternative for those who want to own Bugatti but can’t buy the $2.7 million Chiron just yet. Photo credits: PG and Bugatti.
