The Life Clock

A compact and ingenious first aid kit.

Created in a collaboration between various Korean companies and manufacturers, brought together under the name of Gyeonggi Province Company, the Life Clock blends a modern aesthetic and function in a practical design. Although it looks like a minimalist and eye-catching timepiece at a glance, the product hides more under the surface. The SWNA studio designed the clock with a clean design, ensuring that it will look fantastic on any desk or wall, whether at the office or at home. When opening the face of the Life Clock, the user can find a range of five items, chosen carefully after consultations with first aid and disaster relief experts. It’s a creative first aid box design that brings together two different concepts in one product.

The 5-piece emergency kit includes a lighting rod and condenser to start a fire, if needed. Medical supplies include a roll of pressure bandage and a thermal insulation blanket. A whistle and a yellow flag provide practical ways to signal emergency crews. The interior features a separate compartment which provides space for medication. The kit also comes with ICE blank cards and manuals. Colors include bright red and blue, but a more understated and versatile gray option is also available. Photographs© SWNA.
