A fresh take on archetypal library lamps, this minimalist lamp has a sleek design and also optimizes function.

Shining with an industrial style that references designs from the past, the Library Lamp was designed in a collaboraation between two Brooklyn-based designers: Ben Kicic and Emilio Halperin. Inspired by the archetypal lighting found in libraries and banks, the designers created this table lamp with a rectangular base and two arms that curve upward to hold the shade. Crafted from milled aluminum, the lamp boasts subtle textures that give both matte and lightly lustrous finishes to different components.

The base has a simple rectangular form with a scooped out front that acts as a diffuser while also providing a space to store and display small items and desk accessories. Perfectly symmetrical, the two arms hold both the base and the lampshade. Internal wiring keeps the design as minimalist and clean as possible. Additionally, the Library Lamp features touch-sensitive surfaces on the base, arms and shade for extra functionality and ease of use.

Made to order, the Library Lamp comes in two versions. The standard option made of solid aluminum has a silver gray color and a brushed texture, while the brass version features a raw, unlacquered surface that will develop a lovely patina over time and with use.
