The portable version of the Kudhva cabins, K-Tent offers a cozy camping solution with an architectural twist.
Inspired by the angular Kudhva cabins which feature galvanized frames that elevate the angular volume above the ground to maximize access to views, New British Design has created a portable version. Named Kudhva Kanvas K-Tent, this architectural camping solution provides a cozy way to enjoy adventures in the wilderness, attend festivals with friends, or create a glamping site in the middle of nature. The project is the result of a collaboration between Kudhva founder Louise Middleton and the co-founders of New British Design (NBD), architect Ben Huggins and design consultant Hannah Huggins.
Compact but spacious, the K-Tent sleeps two in complete comfort. Like the original cabins, it features a metal structure that raises the sleeping area above the ground, leaving no trace of the tent when moved. The angular shape of the Kudhva cabins informed the silhouette of the tent, resulting in a modern and distinctive design that looks great anywhere, from a woodland clearing or a sandy beach to a poolside area. Adjustable legs allow users to install the K-Tent with ease even on uneven terrain. Additionally, the tent is lightweight and easy to assemble by two people in 30-45 minutes.
Made in the UK, this British design gem is also crafted to last. The K-Tent features an infinitely recyclable aluminum frame, heavy-duty zipped openings, and a durable British Millerain canvas that can handle winds of up to 80 miles an hour. Apart from adjustable legs, the tripod frame also features a non-slip ladder and a deck area. Available to order, the Kudhva Kanvas K-Tent has a lead time of 12-14 weeks and costs £12,500 or around $15,400. Photography by Louis Domville-Musters and Matt Cannon.
