The UK-designed modular homes come to the US.
Based in the UK, Koto makes beautiful modular houses and cabins with a Scandinavian aesthetic. The company has also designed what could very well be the world’s coolest outdoor playhouse. Now, Koto has partnered with US startup Abodu to bring these Nordic style prefab designs to the US. Featuring Californian design cues as well as Koto’s love of Scandinavian simplicity, the new range of backyard homes and guest houses blend into any setting with ease.
Both beautifully designed and expertly built, these modular homes provide a convenient solution to expand existing living spaces. At the same time, they can also become a cozy retreat focused on slow living. “We believe well designed spaces can transform an environment, creating simple, flexible and functional homes that embrace slow living,” explains Zoe Little, founding partner at Koto.
Developed with accessibility and efficiency in mind, these structures also look at home in natural settings. They feature a minimalist aesthetic and a thoughtful choice of materials. Naturally, customers can customize their new prefab backyard home in various ways. Optional features include everything from premium appliances, finishes, landscaping, and external decking to a curated furniture package. And thanks to the Koto’s new partnership with Abodu, the homes can arrive in your backyard, wherever you are in the US, in up to two weeks. Photographs© Joe Fletcher.
