Karma by Do Ho Suh

View all 6 Photos

Renowned for his large-scale installations, Korean artist Do Ho Suh continues to deliver impact through both concept and construction. Karma is a brushed stainless steel sculpture that towers seven meters high, both formidable and frightening. From far away, the sculpture appears to be an elegant spine, with each vertebrae gently curving past the next, though a closer look reveals the presence of 98 human figures stacked atop one another. A striding male holds up the remaining 97 who squat and cover the eyes of the one below. A visual representation of Karmic connection, the outdoor installation solicits fear and admiration alike.
