A high-end, modern hotel inspired by traditional architecture from Mykonos, Greece.
Located on Mykonos, in the Cyclades, Kalesma is a new 5-star Greek hotel that welcomes guests with stylish suites that offer panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. The high-end retreat draws inspiration from Cycladic aesthetics and the vernacular architecture of Mykonos, aiming to recreate the feel of a small village. As a result, the volumes boast traditional white-washed walls and flat roofs. However, the hotel re-imagines Cycladic design through a modern lens.
The name “Kalesma” means “inviting” in Greek and perfectly encapsulates the concept behind the retreat. While refined and elegant, the retreat also draws inspiration from the laid-back, relaxed atmosphere of the island. Here, guests can experience Mykonos through all of their senses. The white volumes rise from a gently sloping site surrounded by cliffs, with a path leading down to the beach. The privileged location ensures that guests have access to 360-degree views, which means that they can admire the sunrise and sunset from the same spot. The resort features 25 suites and two villas designed with a blend of traditional and contemporary design. Minimalist and stylish, the interiors feature natural, locally sourced materials in warm, earthy colors.
In a first for Mykonos, all suites have heated private pools as well as private terraces with dining areas. Naturally, the suites and villas also offer uninterrupted views of the sea. Guests can also arrange in-room wellness and spa treatments along with private Pilates, yoga, or training sessions. Kalesma has a restaurant that serves delicious Mediterranean dishes, a pool bar, and a sunset lounge with a fire pit. Apart from enjoying their private pools and terraces with sea views, guest can also book guided tours of the area, scuba diving lessons, or explore the island’s 25 beaches.
