Intuitive, Analog-Inspired Smartwatches by Vector Watch

View all 5 Photos

The young, London-based brand Vector Watch is now taking pre-orders for two unisex smartwatches: the round Luna and the rectangular Meridian. By default, the wearable technology is outfitted with Bluetooth 4.0 so that the wristwatches can connect with one’s phone and send notifications. Additionally, the smartwatches monitor activity throughout the day and allow the user to set fitness goals. More impressively, Vector’s designs filter information so that the wearer is not constantly bombarded with beeps, vibrations, and reminders to burn calories. The intuitive design detects whether one is at work or home, running or sleeping, and more, in order to adjust its communication so that the right messages go through at the right time. This means that someone can focus on their work email at the office, their health on the road, and social connections at home, for example.

Additionally, Vector’s smartwatches boast a high-contrast, monochrome display that is “always on” and a 30-day battery, so the analog-inspired design is visible all-day, everyday for up to a month before it has to be recharged. The resting face is customizable, displaying or hiding indices, date, and chronograph functions. Like a conventional watch, Vector’s designs are also personal style statements; they are meant to be seen as well as used. To this end, they come with one’s choice of a stainless steel, leather, silicone, or limited-edition NATO nylon strap, and are customizable with other such options. The versatile smartwatches debuted at Baselworld 2015 and are now available for pre-order from Vector, prices starting at $199.
