Bike owners rejoice! Silca has designed a portable and multi-configurable bike tool that will take the stress away from adjusting various parts and components on the go. Founded in 1917 in Italy, the company has introduced innovative concepts to improve cycling right from the beginning. The first high-pressure pump, revolutionary products made of lightweight plastic introduced after WWII or the floor pump backed by a lifetime warranty, to name a few. So it comes as no surprise to learn that the brand has done it again. Portable, compact, multi-functional, and accurate, the ratchet and torque tools developed by SILCA transform you into your bike’s mechanic.
The T-Ratchet uses a 72-Tooth mechanism with five positions, which is two times more than traditional mini-ratchet tools. The Ti-Torque extender is built around a 6Al/4V Titanium torsion beam and can measure 2-8Nm torque readings with impressive accuracy, in real time. The Step-Torque process also allows you to tighten bolts in a pattern to one level and then re-tighten to a higher level, which is crucial when adjusting carbon handlebars or stem faceplates. This configurable system is portable and lightweight; the T-Ratchet weighs 60 grams, while the Ti-Torque just 30 grams, and they both measure 100 mm in length. A hand-sewn canvas and ripstop nylon case with a magnetic closure is also provided, along with 10 S-2 steel bits, making the system ideal for both professionals, cycling enthusiasts, and urban commuters in equal measure. Stylish, too. The campaign to fund the project surpassed its goal of $25,000 to reach over $165,000 in a short time, but you can still become a backer until August 18 to pre-order the T-Ratchet and Ti-Torque at a reduced price.
