A collection of minimalist outdoor furniture that pays homage to the Golden Age of Danish design.

Since 1908, family-owned Danish company Sibast Furniture has been making high-quality, solid wood furniture that embodies the very best of Scandinavian and Danish design. The current collection comprises both contemporary furniture, created in collaboration with talented designers, and a series of reissues of Helge Sibast’s iconic modern designs from the 1950s. With the Morten Anker-designed Rib range which Sibast Furniture introduced at the 2024 edition of Maison & Objet in Paris, the brand pays homage to the Golden Age of Danish design while offering a complete solution to create the perfect outdoor lounge and/or dining space.

The Sibast Rib collection celebrates the highly influential work of Danish design masters like Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, and Helge Sibast. Minimalist and versatile, these pieces of outdoor furniture are also practical and crafted to last for generations. Designer Morten Anker shares Sibast’s commitment to sustainability, so it comes as no surprise that the Rib collection is made by hand from responsibly grown core teak wood. Sanded by hand for a perfect finish, these furniture pieces feature no oil or chemical treatments – they simply showcase the beauty of the natural material. Additionally, the company collaborates with the One Tree Planted organization to plant one tree for each sold product.

A comprehensive solution to build the ideal outdoor space for relaxing, socializing or dining.

From small terraces to spacious gardens and poolside areas, the Rib collection can fit into any space and décor. The designs range from dining tables and coffee tables to lounge chairs, sofas, benches, stools, ottomans, and daybeds. All products feature the same pattern of rib-like slats, with the chairs and armchairs boating subtly curved seats and backrests. Cushions enhance comfort further while offering elegant ways to change the look of the furniture with a series of neutral color options. Most of the products come in different sizes, with tables available in rectangular or circular versions and daybeds in single or double sizes, for example.

Made to last for generations, like the best examples of heirloom-quality furniture, the collection also suits commercial settings. Left untreated, the surface of the core teak wood will develop a lovely patina over the years to tell the story of the passage of time.
