After two years of working on NTN as a side project, product designer and Notion co-founder Ian Walton decided to focus completely on the design-oriented timepieces and launched the independent watch brand this September, with the first collection of W1/D watches introduced at the beginning of December.
Much like the Frame Chair, the expertly crafted timepieces feature a combination of refined minimalism, functionality, timeless design, as well as traditional and modern manufacturing techniques. The CNC machined stainless steel case measures 42mm and has two parts that fit together perfectly, creating the face of the watch at the same time. On top, the crystal cover features the printed increments which float above the three hands and date display, giving the watch a distinctive, modern look while also enhancing the minimalist aesthetic. Inside, a high-quality Swiss Ronda movement keeps time with accuracy. The full grain vegetable-tanned leather straps feature hand stitching completed in-house; they come in four colors: almond, black, fog, and blue, all of them chosen to complement the natural, gold PVD and black PVD case finishes perfectly.
The unisex watches are completely handmade and produced in small quantities in the company’s studio in Dublin, Ireland. Available now, you can find them on the brand’s official website, at a price of €420 for the natural and black versions and €440 for the gold W1/D watch.
