B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd. No, we’re not going through an amazing vinyl collection, we’re just listing a small part of the icons captured by the talented Jérôme Brunet over the years. The award-winning photographer’s impressive career began with a deep love of music and instruments. That passion soon developed into a stunning visual journey. Spanning a period of over 20 years, “Into The Light” takes a look at legends through the camera lens, offering a glimpse at musical icons, regardless of genre.
“I’m known to shoot what is referred to in French as shooting in ‘contre jour’ or ‘into the light’ where the camera is pointed directly toward a source of light. It’s also lyrics to one of my favorite Peter Gabriel songs ‘Family Snapshot,’” explains Brunet. “I’m very excited to have music and art enthusiasts take this journey with me,” he adds.
Ideal for music fans and photography lovers in equal measure, the coffee table book features a foreword by beloved rock star Steve Miller. Inside, award-winning photos blend with more intimate, previously unpublished shots. Recently launched on Kickstarter, the campaign to print “Into The Light” ends on November 9 2017. If you want to get your hands on a hand-signed first edition book, head over to the campaign’s page to support the project. Packages include the regular book as well as deluxe editions and large, signed and numbered fine art prints. Photographs© Jérôme Brunet.
